Very interesting and inspiring blog. My daughter loves cookies a lot, however is suffering from Celiac disease. So all her meal has to be gluten free. I’ve learn a lot from your website. Thank you.

Good points, however, I strive to tell folks it isn't just about not having bread, it's about opening up a new world of foods and tastes and celebrating not being ill. Besides I can still have "bread" just not made with wheat, barley or rye. :) Of course those are the first things people think of when you say no gluten. :)

when I am thinking I am bored or my food is not exciting, I remind myself that my food is just fuel and I look around for other reasons why I am wanting more or more excitement. I go through many emotional responses to my food but these are just accepted as what is and I can just let it be/let go. By focusing elsewhere, the food takes it's rightful humble place and we can live real and be honest in all the other areas of our day.

Ellen and Sally,
The gluten-free diet has been life changing for my son and me, as has Dr. D'Adamo's Genotype Diet work. Thank you for such a concise description of how gluten affects those of us with celiac disease as well as challenges it can pose for the general population. You're right - variety is the key to success with a gluten-free diet. Can't wait to visit Kid Kritics.

Interesting read about the hybridization of grains, and some other points well made about gluten-free foods.
The only other thing I want to comment on is the percentage of Americans with Celiac disease. I believe it's still around 1%.....but beyond that they say 6-10% of Americans do have gluten sensitivity.
On another note, I'm looking forward to checking out the websites listed in the beginning of the article.
